Here at The Underground, we are gearing up for the 9th Annual Short Shorts Film Festival on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 7pm. This is one of our favorite events of the year, the only event of its kind, and we invite you to experience it with us! This annual festival brings together amateur and professional filmmakers nationwide, who submit films (five minutes or less) for cash prizes, and YOU, the audience pick the winners!

This year will be the first year in The Underground, our new event space, in the Historic Depot. The new two story venue offers double the seating (as the previous Play Ground location), and a unique atmosphere to view the films on a 10’ x 13’ screen.

What I love about this festival is that there is a wide variety of films being shown in various genres—animation, documentary, comedy, experimental, drama, film trailers, you name it. There’s something for everyone at this film festival.

If you are a filmmaker, there is still time to submit a film to this year’s festival! The deadline to submit films is Friday, January 31st at 4:30pm. A panel of judges will review the films, and the top 12-15 films will be screened at the festival and the audience will pick the top three winners! 1st Place will receive $250, 2nd Place- $150, 3rd Place-$100.

Get your tickets early as this is always a sell-out event! Purchase tickets online here:
